English press reports today stated that Chelsea had agreed terms with Feyenoord for the Holland U21 star, but Calderon confided on local radio this morning that Real were confident of a deal.

"We are interested in this player," said Calderon, "and negotiations are continuing.

"But it's only in the early phase and there's a long way to go to make this signing a reality."
