Real Madrid president Calderon assures Schuster over coffee

AS says the two men met for coffee after lunch where Schuster explained his blow-up on Wednesday was due to fears that a deal for Hamburg midfielder Rafael van der Vaart would fall through because of Real's pursuit of Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo.

Calderon assured Schuster that talks were continuing with Hamburg over a fee for Van der Vaart and that sports director Pedja Mijatovic has the transfer well under control.

The German was heard telling Calderon: "We'll, that's good. If Cristiano doesn't come, then Van der Vaart is enough."
