Real Madrid president Vicente Boluda insists coach Juande Ramos demanded the signing of West Ham midfielder Julien Faubert.

Only hours before the loan deal was sealed, Ramos declared he had not asked for another signing before the winter market closed.

But Boluda insisted: "I have to rely on people inside the club and the requests made by the coach. Madrid will not to take anyone without that chain of command and I think we've grabbed the best in quality and price."
