Real Madrid prepared to move closer to Spurs price for Modric

Real Madrid are prepared to go closer to Tottenham's assessment of Luka Modric.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has so far been unwilling to lower his £38million valuation for Modric but a reported new bid by Real Madrid which would be a little closer to the fee but not far off the original £27m could serve to loosen the Spurs hardline, says the Daily Express.

The two clubs are expected to reengage in talks with each other this week and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is hoping the good relations between the two clubs following the transfer of Rafael van de Vaart will help.
