Real Madrid players insist there was nothing serious in Jose Mourinho's blow-up with Cristiano Ronaldo on Tuesday night.

Real Madrid players insist there was nothing serious in Jose Mourinho's blow-up with Cristiano Ronaldo on Tuesday night.

Contrary to earlier reports, Real president Florentino Perez did not reach the locker room until after the row and Mourinho had left.

Punto Pelota says after the Copa win over Valencia, Mourinho addressed the players, one-by-one, and when it came to Ronaldo, he demanded greater effort when without the ball, to run back and support his teammates more.

Ronaldo replied: "This won't help me score goals."

Mourinho snapped: "Just shut up and run more!"

By the time Perez had arrived, Ronaldo was in the shower and when asking the players about the ruck was told not to be alarmed as the pair square off regularly in the post-match wash-up.
