Real Madrid are launching a bid for Werder Bremen midfield schemer Diego. Bild says Real are discussing a swap deal with Werder officials which would see Rafael van der Vaart move in the opposite direction.

Diego has made no secret of his wish to join a big European club this year and has also attracted major interest from Juventus and Atletico Madrid.
