Real Madrid are ready to offer £20 million for Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.

The Daily Star says Real will make the cash bid after sports chief Pedja Mijatovic watched Drogba in action against Fenerbahce on Tuesday night.

Mijatovic said: "My mission is to view football and to speak with agents to prepare for new projects next season."

However, Real are running a distant third in the race for Drogba behind AC Milan and Inter. The Ivorian recently purchased an apartment in the Milan city centre.
