Real Madrid notifies Man Utd of James asking price

Real Madrid has told Manchester United their asking price for James Rodriguez.

According to Marca, Los Blancos will only sell the 25-year-old for £63m or higher as they look to re-coup their losses from purchasing Rodriguez from Monaco in 2014.

It is believed Manchester City and Chelsea are also interested in securing the Colombian's services, but it is United's relationship with Jorge Mendes which separates them from their rivals.

Mendes is the agent of Rodriguez and United boss Jose Mourinho, which has lead to speculation linking the two parties to a potential transfer.

Rodriguez has failed to cement a spot in Real's starting XI this season having made only 13 starts in La Liga this campaign.
