Real Madrid assistant coach Aitor Karanka was delighted with their performance for victory over Espanyol.

Real went ten points clear at the top of the table after beating Espanyol 5-0.

"The coach said yesterday that Higuain is one of the best centre forwards in the world and everyone could see that tonight. He has a very special character. It's obvious when he's happy and when he's not. Due to what's gone on this week the match was very important to him and he is very happy right now. He is the first to put pressure on himself. His self-demand is good," said Mourinho.

"It's also obvious when Kaka enjoys himself and it is a spectacle to behold when things work out for him. He didn't give a good performance the other day because the match was very physical, but he feels comfortable at the Bernabeu and it is a real pleasure to watch him play."
