Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago has handed coach Manuel Pellegrini an injury headache.

The Argentina international has suffered a thigh strain and missed Sunday's defeat at Sevilla.

Gago's injury is so severe that Pellegrini doesn't expect him to be available for their Champions League clash with AC Milan.
