Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has cleared Inter Milan over claims of FIFA intervening in their transfer row.
Real have complained to FIFA about Inter's public pursuit of the Croatia international since the end of the World Cup.
But Gazzetta dello Sport says FIFA called Modric for his view on the situation and the midfielder cleared Inter of any wrongdoing.
Modric informed FIFA it was he who was driving the deal as he wanted to join Inter. As such, Inter are in the clear as it was the player who initiated negotiations.
Modric told FIFA officials he wanted to join Inter to play with Croatia teammates Ivan Perisic, Marcelo Brozovic and Sime Vrsaljko
