Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric remains opposed to VAR after their Club World Cup semifinal win over Al Jazira.

Previously, the Croat has said that VAR 'isn't football' and he addressed that opinion after being awarded the man of the match trophy from Madrid's 2-1 win.

"I didn't like what I said, but for me there is still confusion with VAR," he told reporters after accepting his prize.

"In some ways it may help, but for Casemiro's goal they say it was disallowed because [Karim] Benzema was influencing another player.

"I don't want to get too involved in this controversy.

"We shouldn't worry about it, we should think about football. It will arrive and we cannot do anything."
