Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio has shrugged off criticism from former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.

After joining Juventus, Ronaldo stated he felt the Turin-based club was different and more like a family.

"Juventus will be a great family [for Cristiano Ronaldo]," Asensio said after victory over Leganes.

"But Real Madrid are one too.

"I don't know if we are more of a team or not without Ronaldo.

"I've always been in a team both on and off the field, everyone pulling in the same direction.

"When Ronaldo was here, we were a team and we all contributed our own bit."
