Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo feels victory over Manchester City can ignite their season. Real struck twice late on to win 3-2 in their Champions League opener.

"(Jose) Mourinho has spoken to us and something had to change," said matchwinner Ronaldo.

"The team played very well. We scored three goals, created more opportunities and we deserved to win. The important thing was to win and start well this competition. We started the season poorly in the league. The Champions League started today and we did well."
