Real Madrid are competing with Manchester City for AS Roma midfielder Daniele de Rossi. Mediaset says it's a three-way battle for De Rossi's services, though the chances of the midfielder remaining with Roma are diminishing.
De Rossi still hasn't responded to Roma's latest contract offer, with management seeking a response by last Friday.
Sergio Berti, De Rossi's agent, has already agreed personal terms with City over a deal worth €9 million-a-year, which would see him move to England on a Bosman in June.
However, should De Rossi reject Roma's offer, new GM Franco Baldini favours an immediate sale and has been in contact with Real Madrid in recent days.
Real are prepared to pay €10 million for De Rossi now, despite less than six months being left on his contract.
