Real Madrid are ready to discuss a sensational swap deal for Napoli midfielder Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Aware that Lavezzi's agent is pressing Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis to open talks over a pay-rise, Real have made their interest known in the Argentina international this week.

Tuttosport says Real are convinced they can tempt De Laurentiis into doing business by offering defender Fabio Cannavaro in a straight swap for Lavezzi.

Cannavaro has made no secret of his wish to return to Napoli to close his career.
