Real Madrid are making Roma midfielder Daniele de Rossi a top target for the summer market.

Marca says the Italy international tops Real's shortlist of names as they seek a major midfield signing for next season.

Real have been encouraged that De Rossi continues to baulk at signing a new contract with Roma, but won't meet the &pond;30 million asking price sports director Pedja Mijatovic was quoted last month when in Italy.
