Real Madrid and Liverpool are at deadlock over transfer negotiations for Xabi Alonso.

Despite a new round of talks on Sunday, Marca says the two parties are actually further apart in their valuations.

Liverpool are refusing to drop their £35 million asking price, while Real president Florentino Perez refuses to go higher than £25 million for the Spain international.

Xabi spent yesterday in Barcelona after briefly appearing for Liverpool the previous night against Espanyol.
