Real Madrid legend Raul has hailed the work of Jose Mourinho.

Raul, who will leave Schalke at the end of the season, says Mourinho deserves great credit for the improvement Real have shown this season.

"Mourinho has been working very well, doing the sort of things that he thinks he has to do," he said.

"He is building a very competitive years, in two years it reached the Champions League semi-finals twice after many years in which it could not go this far.

"They have won a Copa del Rey and a lot of things are being done very well.

"I have also had bad experiences with penalties and I keep enjoying this sport.

"Madrid can become Spanish champions on Sunday and the players must find their strength and give an important step towards reaching the title."
