Real Madrid legend Fernando Hierro has paid tribute to Barcelona captain Carles Puyol.

Puyol will leave Barca at the end of the season.

"His goal in the World Cup Final 2010, in the semi-final against Germany, and his day-to-day performances, are an example for all," said Puyol.

"There are very few players who start and end their careers playing for the same club; they could be counted on the fingers of one hand. I have come here to embrace him."
