Real Madrid are interested in Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso.

Sporting chiefs declared this week that Veloso would not be sold in January, unless an interested club were prepared to meet his £20 million buyout clause.

Real have had Veloso scouted in the last two internationals played by Portugal, where he impressed in midfield alongside Barcelona's Deco and Maniche of Atletico Madrid.
