Real Madrid are edging closer to an agreement for Inter Milan fullback Douglas Maicon.

Gazzetta dello Sport says Real president Florentino Perez has tabled a €28 million bid for the Brazil international.

Inter were demanding €35 million for Maicon, but have now climbed down and are willing to sell for €30 million.

Real Madrid's new boss Jose Mourinho is keen to be reunited with as many of his former Inter players as possible and has also been asking for Wesley Sneijder and Diego Milito.
