Real Madrid have joined the battle for Porto defender Bruno Alves.

Alves is wanted by Barcelona and Inter Milan, but Real have also made their interest known this week, says the Jornal de Noticias.

Real are keen to team Alves with fellow Portugal international Pepe at the heart of their defence next season.
