Manchester United must part with Javier Hernandez to land Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. United chief David Gill has been in Madrid this week to negotiate terms with Jorge Mendes, the agent of Ronaldo.
The Manchester Evening News says United wanted to offer £60m and Nani for Ronaldo, but the Spanish giants have indicated an interest in Hernandez instead.
Money-bags French side PSG remain in the hunt for Cristiano, and are prepared to match his £80m fee from 2009, but Real are exploring the option of taking Hernandez in a player-plus-cash deal.
