Real Madrid are in advanced talks with Raphael Varane over a new contract.

Despite his injury problems, Varane remains highly rated inside the Real board room and by coach Zinedine Zidane.

Le 10 Sport says negotiations are now at an advanced stage over a new deal, though there is little detail on the length of the agreement.

However, the new contract will see Varane enjoy a pay rise on his current €5m salary.

Varane, 24, is now in his sixth year as a Real Madrid player.
