Former Real Madrid star David Beckham rates Barcelona ace Lionel Messi as the best player in the world.
LA Galaxy midfielder Beckham regards Messi's work off the ball as a major reason why he can claim to be the best on the planet.
The Manchester United legend explained: "He's the best in the world, quite simple. He's a role model for kids who want to play like him and do everything he does, how he behaves, how he works for the team.
"He works hard for the team and that's what makes him the player and person he is."
