Real Madrid made a new check on Napoli wing-back Christian Maggio on the weekend.

Real chief Miguel Angel Portugal posted a scout to take in Napoli's clash with Torino on Sunday.

Contrary to reports, Real weren't represented to check on Napoli midfield pair Ezequiel Lavezzi and Marek Hamsik, who both missed the game.

Instead, it was Maggio who was the subject of Portugal's focus as they consider the right-sided wing-back for the January market.
