Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois admits he's instantly happier now he's left Chelsea and London.

Courtois long admitted he wanted to make the move to be closer to his chidren now living in Madrid.

He told VTM: "I am especially happy to see my children every day, although my 16 month old son is still too small to understand everything.

"Chatting with my teammates? From time to time they make a joke about the Champions League final that I lost against them with Atlético."

Courtois was also nominated for FIFA's The Best goalkeeper award.

"I do not know when they voted. But if that happened right after the World Cup, that may be an advantage for me. We will see if I win the trophy ... I hope so," he added.
