Porto defender Bruno Alves is in the sights of Real Madrid.

Despite the Real presidential elections, the club's current football staff are still active in the transfer market, as sports chief Predrag Mijatovic confirmed yesterday with their failed bid for Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez.

Alves is also in Real 's sights, though they face competition from Chelsea for the Portugal defender.
