Real Madrid GM Jorge Valdano has left the door open to Raul leaving at the end of the season. Valdano says the club will accept whatever decision Raul makes about his future.

"He is an asset for the club, an example on and off the field and we hope to enjoy him much longer. He made a great effort (against Real Zaragoza) and played with pain and surrendered only when he could not stand.

"It is going to be Raul who decides and the club will accept the decision he makes."
