Real Madrid GM Valdano: Pellegrini never under pressure

Real Madrid GM Jorge Valdano insists there's no pressure on coach Manuel Pellegrini.

Valdano, speaking after Real's 6-2 thrashing of Villarreal, rejected claims of pressure on the Chilean after last week's Champions League defeat at Lyon.

"I am very satisfied with the coach and the team. We have had a great game and we learned to play two games, which was first with much elaboration in midfield and then after Villarreal scored. We scored six goals and it could have been more. I'm totally satisfied, full of football," said Valdano.

"The team plays in the coach's style, who has managed many things well. When he [Pellegrini] said this was the best Madrid in 15 years that related to statistical data, not opinions. But we know that when you lose come the criticisms.

"Our job is to win games and if we are playing well and scoring goals like today, all the better. The league is going to come down very little difference, perhaps because of goal difference."
