Real Madrid GM Jorge Valdano is happy for Raul over his success with Schalke.
The former Real captain has helped Schalke into the Champions League semifinals.
"He is having an exceptional campaign, it's something we are used to, but he always exceeds expectations," Valdano told AS.
"We must take our hats off to him for everything he has done, especially for Real Madrid and Spanish football in general.
"He is always professional and stays fit. He is a great player."
