Real Madrid fullback Dani Carvajal praised Borja Mayoral after his goal in victory at Real Sociedad.

Mayoral has the ability to play a role for the team this season said Carvajal.

Mayoral came into the side with both Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo missing, and he made the most of his chance by getting the opening goal.

"We have a very big squad, and it is clear that Mayoral is perfectly able to help us and score goals," explained Carvajal.

"We knew that if we lost then we would be seven points off the pace and it was not an easy game with a lot of players out, away from home but the team showed character."
