Real Madrid fear losing Xabi Alonso to Jose Mourinho's Chelsea. The Daily Star says Mourinho is a big fan of the Spain midfielder, who has a year left on his current deal.

And Madrid chiefs are wary that the Special One may try and tempt the 31-year-old to Stamford Bridge.

The Portuguese tactician played Alonso in 42 games last season and knows his passing range could be a massive asset for Chelsea.

Alonso already has Premier League experience having spent five years at Liverpool before making the £30m move to Madrid in 2009.
