Real Madrid fear competition from Chelsea in the battle for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus. The London Evening Standard says the Germany midfielder is set to leave Dortmund in the summer having refused to extend his deal.
He has a release clause of £19.7million in his contract and Real hope to trigger it. Although Bayern Munich are also in the hunt, Real officials believe that Chelsea have already made contract with the 25-year-old's agent Volker Struth to flag up their interest.
Chelsea could use Dortmund's desire to buy Andre Schurrle to seal a deal.
However, Real are convinced they secured first refusal on Reus when Nuri Sahin rejoined Dortmund in the summer.
