Real Madrid eyeing Club Brugge keeper Ryan

Spanish giants Real Madrid are showing interest in young Australian goalkeeper Mat Ryan.

They are the sentiments of his former Central Coast Mariners coach Graham Arnold who was unveiled as the new head coach at Sydney FC on Thursday.

22-year old Ryan has been a star for Belgian side Club Brugge in his debut season in Europe which has prompted interest from Carlo Ancelotti's Madrid according to Arnold.

"You look at Maty Ryan," he told ABC Grandstand.

"Maty Ryan left here last year. He's gone across to Belgium, he's the best goalkeeper in the league I do believe and I have heard he's getting interest from Real Madrid. He's been doing that well."

Ryan has made 37 appearances for Brugge this season, keeping 13 clean sheets, as the Blue-Black closes in on the Belgian Pro League title.
