Real Madrid will have a decision on their pursuit of Inter Milan fullback Douglas Maicon in the next 24 hours.
The Brazil international right-back is Real Madrid's No 1 transfer target this summer, but Inter have rejected their overtures so far.
Florentino Perez reportedly offered 28m for Maicon earlier this month, but Inter are said to be holding out for a bid closer to 34m.
AS says representatives from the two clubs met yesterday together with Maicon's agent Antonio Caliendo.
Talks will continue today with a view to reaching a definitive conclusion.
