Real Madrid expect Fiorentina bid for Cassano

Real Madrid expect a bid to arrive today from Fiorentina for frozen out striker Antonio Cassano.

New Real coach Bernd Schuster left Cassano in Madrid to train on his own as he took his squad to Austria. Marca says Schuster made the decision after Cassano went AWOL from training on Sunday morning.

Cassano still has three years left on his Real contract - which amounts to a mega £8 million in wages. The Italian's personal demands are proving the main stumbling block for Real in trying to get him off their books.

Fiorentina have made contact and are willing to sign Cassano, if he agrees to a major pay-cut. Real are expecting an offer to arrive today.
