Real Madrid earn tidy fee for Leicester friendly

Leicester City coughed up £1 million to play Real Madrid in yesterday's 2-1 friendly defeat.

That's the going rate for the Spanish giants, the world's most glamorous and successful club, to appear in a friendly.

But ambitious Leicester were happy to pay up and stage the managerial battle between Sven Goran Eriksson and Madrid's Jose Mourinho.

The Foxes are adopting a high profile in the build up to what they are confident will be a promotion-winning season.
