Real Madrid have dropped their pursuit of Lazio left-back Aleksandar Kolarov.

Real have ditched their bid for the Serbia international over Lazio president Claudio Lotito's €25 million valuation.

Kolarov is a favourite of new Real coach Jose Mourinho, but after last summer's huge outlay, president Florentino Perez is being more careful with who they spend big on this time around.
