Real Madrid chiefs Pedja Mijatovic and Jose Angel Sanchez spent yesterday locked in negotiations for Feyenoord wing-back Royston Drenthe.

Madrid hope to close the Holland U21 international's signing in the next 48 hours after holding talks yesterday with Feyenoord, his agent Sigi Lens and the Dutch Football Federation.

Mijatovic and Sanchez have also spoken with Drenthe's Dad and have told him that the player's threat to take Feyenoord to the High Courts to get his move will work in their favour.
