Real Madrid directors push Perez to choose Courtois: Local school and house already settled

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is urging Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to stay patient.

Manchester United No1 David de Gea remains Perez's priority target to replace Real keeper Keylor Navas, but is finding negotiations difficult with both club and player.

The Real president isn't giving up - but is also maintaining contact with Courtois as a backup.

Diario Gol says fellow board members see a deal for the Belgium international as the easier option, with one source declaring "he already has a house and school settled" in Madrid. Courtois' ex-wife and two children now live in the city.

Courtois also counts on the support of Real captain Sergio Ramos, who has no doubts about the Chelsea keeper's quality.

With several directors and Ramos in his corner, Courtois knows a move to Real would be a smooth one.
