Real Madrid directors are working on coach Zinedine Zidane to approve the sale of Karim Benzema.

Zidane continues to stand by his fellow Frenchman, despite his abysmal scoring record this season - which has been highlighted to the coach by Real board members.

The coach insists Benzema's work off the ball has been crucial in their run to the semifinals of the Champions League this season, but Real directors are adamant they can do better.

Okdiario's top pundit Eduardo Inda has revealed it has been highlighted to Zidane in recent days that Benzema now stands 43rd in the race for the Pichichi.

"He's now had many seasons to prove himself as a No9," Inda said on El Chiringuito.

"There is a struggle between the board and the coach for his continuity. The argument the board has given Zidane is the position of Benzema in the Pichichi. He is 43rd."
