Raphael Varane states that Real Madrid will have to be wary of Sergio Aguero in their Champions League encounter against Manchester City on Tuesday night.

Madrid head into the Champions League semi-final tie against City as favourites but it has to be said that the Citizens are more than capable of causing the Spanish giants problems throughout the course of the two legs.

Madrid defender Varane is well aware the threat that City pose and has gone on to state that his side have to be especially wary of the dangerous Aguero who has seven goals in his past seven outings.

Varane said: "He is a great, great player. We have to pay extra attention.

"He's decisive and fundamental for City. We have to keep a close eye on him.

"We know his qualities. I think we must not leave him any spaces and be on our guard to stop him. City are a great team. We have to play a complete match to get to the final.

"They will give it their all, they are very motivated. It's the first time ever they've reached the semi-final. So they will give their maximum."
