Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane says they won't underestimate Champions League opponents Roma.

The first leg of the Round of 16 is at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday night.

“Roma are a really good team," centre-back Varane told the official club website.

“At this stage of the competition every game becomes difficult and there is a very slim margin between winning and losing.

“We must be ready because it'll be a tough match, but I think we've got what it takes to progress in the tournament.

“We are preparing for it exactly the same way as we do other games. We must be reactive both physically and psychologically.

“We have to give our opponents problems on a tactical level and try to annul their strengths."
