Real Madrid defender Ramos thanks fans for support after shootout howler

Sergio Ramos thanked Real Madrid fans for their support after victory over Sevilla.

Ramos missed his spotkick in last week's failed Champions League penalty shootout against Bayern Munich.

"We earned a rather important victory today. There is no time to feel sorry for oneself in football and we must fight to win the league title, which is very important because it requires sacrifice throughout the entire season. We can earn the title with great numbers, which would give us greater credit," said Ramos.

"I have always felt the fans' support and they will always be in my heart. You can fare better or worse, but they're always there and I thank them for everything they've given me.

"Earning 200 victories with Real Madrid is important and I feel proud to play for this shirt. I'd like to do so for many more years. I hope to break many more records. Who would have known I would reach this far?"
