Real Madrid defender Pepe refuses to give up on playing in the World Cup for Portugal next year.

Real doctors say his season is over after suffering a knee injury in victory at Valencia on Saturday night.

But speaking with A Bola, Pepe insisted his World Cup dream is not over.

"I am not going to give up," said Pepe. "I will work hard after surgery to make a full recovery.

"I'm in the hands of God and the doctors."
