Real Madrid are convinced they're in the boxseat for West Ham United striker Carlos Tevez.

Reports in Spain claim Real have struck a verbal agreement with the West Ham striker's agent and owner Kia Joorabchian.

Bernabeu sporting director Pedja Mijatovic is said to have met Joorabchian in Tel Aviv on Tuesday.

But Inter Milan's strong Argentine contingent are trying to tempt countryman Tevez to the San Siro.

Inter's Argentine skipper Javier Zanetti said: "Carlos is a great talent and we all hope he joins us."

Tevez, 23, can leave Upton Park for just £100,000 with the rest of the expected £20million fee going to Joorabchian's MSI group.
