Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane wants president Florentino Perez to revive their pursuit of David Alaba.
Perez has been chasing the Bayern Munich defender for over two years, though with no luck.
Don Balon says Zidane has made it clear to Florentino he has concerns over his defensive options and believes they should pay big for a new arrival.
His prime choice is Austrian Alaba, who can also step into midfield when required.
During talks with Perez in the US, Zidane has also nominated Aymeric Laporte (Athletic Bilbao) and Marquinhos (PSG) as potential additions before the transfer deadline falls.
