Real Madrid coach Zidane scoffs at Liverpool hunger claims: How can you say that?

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane insists his players can match the passion of Champions League opponents Liverpool.

It's been suggested Liverpool's aggression could be too much for Real in Saturday's final.

But Zidane says: “How can anyone say that they (Liverpool) have more hunger than us? We have the chance to win it for a third time. What this club has is a desire to lift this trophy. No one can say they have more hunger than us.

“A lot of their players have not played a final so what? They are going to go out on die on that pitch to win the game and we have to be ready for that.

"It's a one-off game away from home. The fact that we have more experience counts for nothing. Nothing at all. We have to win the game.

"They have not won it for 11 years and we won it last year, it doesn't matter. Both teams want to win it.

“The difficult thing is to reach the final, the most difficult thing is to get here and this year it was quite a complex one and there is still no guarantee that you can do anything. But this team has heart, they never give up and that's the way they are.

“People talk about their front three or that they have less in defence. But they are a team and they have reached the final as a team. We have to look for their weaknesses and try to exploit them.

“We fear nothing. The three last matches we've played against the best in Europe. That's why it's very valuable having difficulties through the season."
